Scrapbook Journaling

Hey, girls! Just sending out a little reminder (and informing those who may have missed the last meeting!) about our “homework” from the last WoP meeting.

Meghan talked to us about who we are. Not just daughters, sisters, friends, etc… but who we are in Christ. She challenged us to take time this month to find a verse in the Bible that tells us something about ourselves. Then scrapbook journal about it and bring it to the next meeting (Which is April 30th, in case you forgot!)

I’m going to post mine on here, to give you some ideas in case you’re not sure what we’re asking!

Love you all! Hope you all can make it on the 30th!

meeting!

Hey girls!

It’s already time for the March meeting! Wow, time flies. But I’m excited to be back into it.

Anyhow, just wanted to make sure you knew that it was coming up…and that you knew the details. It’s going to be at Cheri’s, on Friday, March 25th, from 5 to 8 p.m. We’ll have dinner (good stuff!), play a game or something, worship, and then talk for a while. Maybe throw in a craft or something. Oh, and prizes!

You know how they usually go. *smiles*

Hope you can come! If you have any questions, email womenofpromise@ymail.com. Or call one of us. Whatever works. See you soon…

-Meg

Winter Retreat 2011

Hey all! Meghan here. Just wanted to leave you some pictures of the retreat! I wanted to have all the pictures and video edited before this…but do you know how many I took? A LOT.

Anyhow, here’s a taste of the retreat.

emily and selena.

Beautiful girls.

bekah and brooke.

We had such a wonderful time. Laughing. Talking about…life.

dream boxes.

On Friday night, we made dream boxes…a place where we could put our dreams at the feet of Jesus. Just like the woman with the alabaster jar.

journaling.

We did some creative journaling. Setting a memorial stone, giving ourselves something tangible to remember how God has moved in our lives.

bulletin board...and schedule.

But what you don’t see on the schedule was all the fun we had…ninja, drop the blanket, playing in the snow, reading stories, and sparklers under the stars.

king...um...queen of the mountain.

It was wonderful. As a leader, I came away TIRED…but feeling like I must have been blessed more than the girls.

inside on a wet day.

I am so thankful for each of  the girls that came. Each one.

tasha and aurora.

It was lovely.

for how the ugly becomes beautiful.

for the fun.

And that’s Women of Promise. ❤

P.s. I’ll post more soon!

Retreat update

Hi, girls!!

Brianna here.

There has been a slight problem. You know all the snow we got this month? Well, apparently the road to the Farney camp is blocked. SO SAD.

BUT.

Delite has GRACIOUSLY allowed us to all crowd into her lovely little home for the weekend. And believe me, it is a LOVELY. LITTLE. HOME.

IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC!!!

Wait, I don’t really condone the use of epic all the time. But this time, it applies.

Okay! So this is how to get to her house::

HEAD SOUTH TOWARDS MARTINSBURG.

PASS MARTINSBURG.

KEEP DRIVING.

SLOW DOWN WHEN YOU GET TO HOUSEVILLE, BECAUSE IT’S A SPEED ZONE.

KEEP DRIVING.

PASS BY SNOWRIDGE, LOOK UP TO SEE IF THERE’S ANYONE DOING SOMETHING COOL.

KEEP DRIVING.

SLOW DOWN FOR TURIN.

WAIT! YOU HAVE TO TURN IN TURIN!!!

TURN RIGHT ON  MAIN STREET.

TURN LEFT LIKE THREE HOUSES LATER, ON A LITTLE TINY ROAD CALLED LYMAN.

DRIVE TO THE END OF THE ROAD.

PARK AT THE END OF THE ROAD.

GO INTO THE GARAGE OF THE WHITE HOUSE ON THE LEFT.

KEEP WALKING THROUGH GARAGE UNTIL YOU COME TO THE KITCHEN DOOR!

COME ON IN!!!!

See you all there! Oh, wait. Well, I’m going to be there, like, as much of the time as I can, but I have three little kids, and like, all of my babysitters are either Women of Promise leaders, or they’re IN Women of Promise, or they’re in FLORIDA! So I might not be there till Friday. Go ahead, cry a little. You know you want to.It’s okay. I understand. BUT IT”S ALL GOOD! I will be there AT SOME POINT IN THE WEEKEND!!! DOESN’T THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY????

haha!

Love you guys GIRLS!!

BRIANNA!

Ps. I made this post PINK because I like PINK. But I also like lime green.

So, be ready for more creative journaling, games, question and answer times, and personal stories of how God has worked in people’s lives!  Hope to see you there! -Natasha
